Information Assurance Specialist - Navy Qualified Validator (NQV)

King Tech has an immediate opening for Information Assurance Specialist - Certified Navy IA validator. The selected candidate will work on a team responsible for ensuring and automating the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) Process, ensuring compliance as well as authoring and reviewing Assessment and Authorization (A&A) documentation such as the System Categorization, Security Plan (SP), Security Assessment Plan (SAP), Information Security Continuous Monitoring (ISCM) Strategy, Risk Assessment Report (RAR), Security Assessment Report (SAR), PO&AM, and other required RMF artifacts.
Performing risk assessments, accreditation, vulnerability assessments and information assurance requirements.
Evaluate system requirements and identify applicable Security Technical issues
As the technical writer you will support the validation of security policy and documentation.
Deliver certified Navy IA validator and validate C&A or A&A package which includes checking the package for accuracy and completeness in accordance with SPAWAR guidelines.
Implement Guidelines (STIG) requirements, procedures, policy and guidance for the system
Develop and maintain IA documents to support accreditation requirements for RDT&E Labs to achieve an Authority to Operate (ATO) or Platform Risk Assessment (PRA)
Maintain an acquisition IA strategy and a systems security engineering program to protect the systems in accordance with all local instructions and standard operating procedures (SOP).
Maintain a detailed inventory of all software and hardware components within the DIACAP/RMF package.
Evaluate, determine and document if policy/procedures/guidance are adhered to and implemented. Supports the development of program required security documentation, including items such as security plans, contingency plans, and security tests plans and procedures in compliance with the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
Supports the generation of A&A documentation for the program
Responsible for execution of A&A activities
Performs security testing and evaluation to ensure the correct implementation of security requirements
Executes security scanning and the analysis of the scan results
Supports secure maintenance
As a member of the cyber security team, may support the system security design effort, security requirements analysis, and security requirements flow down to the program element
REQUIRED SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE
Must have Five (5) plus years of current experience in interpreting and implementing Department of Defense directives, instructions, and policies that provide direction and guidance applying them to an RDT&E environment.
Familiar with application of systems engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Extensive experience working as a Navy Certified Validator with the Navy C&A process and Strong experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS) is preferred.
Strong experience with Enterprise Mission Assurance Support System (eMASS) is preferred.
Knowledgeable of the Department of Defense Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP) and other risk assessment frameworks (e.g., NIST).

Ability to interact with a wide range of professional contacts to include managers, secretaries, scientists, specialists, and technicians

Must hold an Active DOD Top Secret Level Security Clearance
(CISSP) Certified Information Systems Security Professional designation preferred
Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Leadership Certification (GSLC)
Must satisfy IAM Level-2 for the DoD Information Assurance Workforce per DoD 8570.01 standards
A Bachelor’s Degree and three (3) years of experience developing, editing, & producing technical & graphic documentation for information technology systems is desired
